Archbishop Bergan


The warriors would finally face a much tougher opponent in Archbishop Bergan of Fremont. Bergan came out on fire hitting threes and lots of and ones to start the game. The warriors would gain back some momentum after a technical foul on the Bergan bench. They would capitalize to tie the game back up midway through the second. Bergan would defend there home floor in the second half and gave the warriors no mercy, punishing them for live ball turnovers with easy fast break points. Bergan would roll to a 58-37 win over the warriors. The warriors moved to 11-3 after the loss.

Lourdes Central Catholic


Riding a four game win streak, the warriors looked to make it five against class D-1 Lourdes Central Catholic of Nebraska City. The warriors came out firing and playing stellar defense to take a 11-2 lead after the first quarter. However, Lourdes would respond back and cut the warriors lead to only five. This was unacceptable play by the warriors, so they corrected and ran the fast break to score easily on Lourdes in the second half. The warriors would win easily by a score of 59-36 to advance to 11-2 on the season.

Elmwood Murdock


After coming off of a strong holiday break, the warriors looked to face a talented C-2 Elmwood Murdock game. Lutheran was ready for the challenge of the knights and played well in the first half. Shutting down Murdock’s versatility helped the warriors jump out to a 26-18 lead. The knights would respond and would cut the lead of the warriors to just two points to start the fourth quarter. A back and fourth game made the final possessions so important. The warriors hit some clutch free throws and shots in the last two minutes to win 46-41. The warriors moved to 10-2 on the season.

Lutheran High Northeast


The warriors advanced to the Championship game of L.I.T. to face Lutheran High Northeast of Norfolk. A low scoring first quarter had Northeast up 8-6. The warriors would respond though in the second and third quarters. The warriors outscored Northeast by 22 points in the second and third quarters. They rolled to a nice 56-36 win to be champions of the Lutheran Invitational Tournament. Joshua Richard Puelz and Luke Volin were named MVPs from the tournament leading there team to the wins. The warriors moved to 9-2 on the season.

Omaha Concordia


After winning the holiday tournament, the warriors would play in another tournament right away, the Lutheran Invitational Tournament at Concordia University in Seward. They would meet Omaha Concordia in the first round of L.I.T. Lutheran would play to the standard of Omaha Concordia and find themselves up two points at the half. The warriors did not want to relive last years debacle of Omaha winning in triple overtime off of a half court shot. The warriors came out firing in the second half, to not give Concordia a shot at that. Knocking down some threes and forcing Omaha to shoot 35 threes in a game gave the warriors a 50-39 win to advance to the L.I.T. championship.

Holdrege


The warriors came off of a dominating win vs a not so talented Raymond Central team. The warriors would play class B Holdrege in the championship of the holiday tournament. The game was a little closer than what the warriors had expected it to be. They found themselves only up one point at half over Holdrege. Lutheran started to play to it’s expectations and rolled to a dominating third quarter scoring 23 points to Holdrege’s nine. They would not look back and won the game 58-44. The warriors would be holiday champs for the third year in a row.

Raymond Central


The warriors would start the holiday tournament vs Raymond Central. The warriors knew they could take care of business early and they did just that. They would be up 30 points at half to give Raymond Central no hopes of a comeback. The bench mob would get some quality minutes in and lots of bench players saw there first varsity points in the second half. The warriors would enjoy watching the bench mob play and roll to an easy 86-43 win. Lutheran advances to the championship game against Holdrege.

Wahoo


Lutheran would go into a hostile environment against Wahoo, who has beeb the most dominant team in class C-1 for the last five years. The defending state champs would not get an easy win against the warriors. Lutheran would match Wahoo playing a stellar first and second quarter to only trail Wahoo by one going into the half. Wahoo would step it up and start playing like state champions. They forced many turnovers leading to easy fast break points outscoring Lutheran 25-7 in the third. They would take care of business in the fourth and ran Lutheran out of the building in the second half winning 67-45. The Lincoln Lutheran warriors would move to 5-2 on the season.

Aquinas


Coming off of a loss to an average Syracuse team, the Warriors were hungry for victory. At first, that didn’t look like that was gonna happen. Aquinas was off to a hot 8-0 start within the first two minutes. The warriors stayed composed and held them to zero points in the second quarter to take a six point lead going into halftime. Lutheran held Aquinas to just 10 points the rest of the game giving them a nice 39-24 win over a big athletic Aquinas team.

Syracuse


The warriors kept riding the tide as they came into Syracuse with lots of confidence that they could beat anybody in class C. Some sloppy play in the first half got rid of that confidence going into halftime. Syracuse would be up six going into the second half. The warriors came back with a strong third quarter cutting the Syracuse lead to only one possession. The warriors had been a fourth quarter dominant team, but that was not the case vs Syracuse. The Syracuse guard would hit a mirage of threes in the fourth, crushing the hopes of a fourth quarter comeback for the warriors. The final would be 49-41 favoring Syracuse.
